Biogen Idec Reflection
posted 1 year agoBiogen idec was great.
First off I am going to give some negative comments.
First off I think that the begenning of the converation was too much abou the company and not about science itself. I also would like to comment on the time, too much time was spent on talking and not on doing the experiment. This brings me to my next point which is the linked amount of time. I think that this could have been a full-day trip, meaning that this trip could have ended at around 2:45 and we could have gotte to school by 3:15. More time should have made us be able to make our own agarose gel.
Alright those are my negatives and, now here are my positives.
The tools were definetely a positive. This is because I had never worked with them before. Eventhough most people are not going to talk about “lunch time,” I will. Lunch was great I really enjoyed my sandwich but I think that they could have bought some more lemonades. Getting to work with DNA was awsome. It was probably the biggest highlight for me, this is because I have been amazed by the capibilities of genes and DNA. At the end of the day people asked a lot more questions than what I expected. I really think that at some it seemed like it a work interview and she really wanted us to work there.
I have one last thing to say/ask:
were the buttons on the lab coats on the wrong side or why were they on the left? Is there any reason for that?
Overall the trip was great we learned a lot and got to use some awsome tools. At some points there too much talking, and not enough experiment doing.
